Control Data Division Signs Lease for 17,500 Square Feet

COSTA MESA — A Control Data Corp. unit has signed a 10-year lease worth $4.6 million for 17,500 square feet at the South Coast Metro Pointe office park off the San Diego Freeway.
Control Data’s business management services division said it will move 52 employees into the building at 959 South Coast Drive.
The developer is Arnel Development Co. in Costa Mesa.
The Control Data unit keeps track of business customers’ payroll and taxes, and supplies an employee assistance program to customers. The office will serve Orange and Riverside counties.
Among the division’s 600 customers are Allergan Inc., Coldwell Banker, Toys R Us and Emerson Computer. The unit’s business has been growing recently, the company said.
Control Data said it selected the location because it is visible from the freeway and is close to the South Coast Plaza shopping center across the street. It is also close to many of the division’s customers, Control Data said.
The office space was leased and designed by Control Data’s real estate unit.
