Baltimore shortstop Cal Ripken’s seventh-inning throwing error ended his 51-game errorless streak. He has committed five errors in 235 games. . . . Gary Gaetti’s home run in the fourth inning was the Angels’ first three-run homer this season and their first homer in 196 at-bats with runners in scoring position. . . . Wally Joyner broke Rod Carew’s club record for most games played at first base with his 721st appearance. . . . Dick Schofield’s fourth-inning double was his first extra-base hit in 60 at-bats this season.
