Former Fluor Chairman Receives Arbuckle Award
Retired Fluor Corp. Chairman David S. Tappan Jr. has received the prestigious Ernest C. Arbuckle Award from the Stanford Business School Alumni Assn. for his leadership of the Irvine-based company. Tappan, who stepped down as chairman at the end of last year, led Fluor through a difficult restructuring in the mid-1980s from which it emerged as one of the world’s top engineering and construction firms. Tappan received an MBA from Stanford in 1948.
