OAKLAND — About those sunglasses Rickey Henderson wears in the outfield and on the bases during day games.
Well, it’s believed that Henderson, who was wearing them when he became the leading base stealer Wednesday, is receiving an endorsement fee, but Henderson said it’s only to cut down the glare and prevent pitchers from reading his eyes when he takes his lead.
Is he thinking about looking cool? “Cool?” he said, mockingly. “I’m cool without the glasses. I style pretty well, don’t you think?”
