Pasadena : Basic Assessment Reduced
Attorneys, accountants, doctors, and other professional and service businesses will pay $25 less yearly to the South Lake Assessment District under a fee reduction approved last week by the Board of Directors.
The reduction in the basic assessment, from $75 to $50, came after some businesses along South Lake Avenue protested that street improvements, paid for by assessment fees that total $135,000 annually in the district, did not increase their volume of business.
The fees assessed per number of employees, an additional $90 to $700, were kept the same, however.
