The National League expansion committee toured an expanded RFK Stadium with an eye to returning baseball to the nation’s capital.
Chairman Douglas Danforth of the Pittsburgh Pirates said there were “no strong negatives” in the Washington bid. Bill Giles of the Philadelphia Phillies said he was “very impressed” with the ownership group.
The committee also is considering Buffalo, Denver, Miami, Orlando and and St. Petersburg, Fla.
