WESTMINSTER : Transportation Competition Is On

The city is sponsoring a contest challenging students of all ages to propose new ideas for transportation.
Top prize is a $500 savings bond, and winners in each of three age groups will win $100. The age groups are: kindergarten through eighth grade, high school and college level.
Students from local schools and colleges, including Orange Coast College, Golden West College and UC Irvine, are invited to compete.
Entries should describe in 1,500 words or less a method of people-moving that does not involve buses or private cars. Drawings and pictures may be included.
Entries must be submitted by June 1, addressed to City of Westminster--Innovative Transportation Methods Contest, 8200 Westminster Blvd., Westminster, Calif 92683. Applications are available at City Hall.
