Pasadena : Grand Jury Probe Is Sought
The county grand jury will be asked to investigate the death of Robert Earl Holloway, who died in January, 1990, after being choked by security guards at the King’s Villages housing project.
The guards said Holloway, 28, who did not live at the project, resisted arrest and fought with them after they tried to stop him for trespassing.
City directors last week approved the request by the city’s Human Relations Commission. The directors had previously asked the county district attorney, the state attorney general and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to investigate Holloway’s death. All three agencies concluded that Holloway’s death did not warrant criminal prosecution.
