BEST-LAID PLANS: For months the word was: The ambassador is coming! Well, not so fast. . . . Kuwait’s U.S. envoy, Sheik Saud al Nasir al Sabah, was due to spend three days at Orange Coast College as a “visiting scholar” and speak Wednesday night. Through the air war, through the ground war, up to last week, the college proclaimed that the sheik would appear. . . . But on Monday the college said he had canceled. Why? An “overwhelming workload.” Still the show must go on. A former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia will speak in the sheik’s place.
