Spill Closes Beach in Imperial Beach
Signs warning of contamination have been posted along a stretch of beach in Imperial Beach because of a 7,000-gallon sewage leak on Sunday, county health officials said.
The spill, caused by a clogged manhole in the 800 block of Seacoast Drive, was discovered about 12:45 p.m. and stopped within an hour, according to the county Department of Health Services. Warning signs have been posted along the beach near the street that fronts it.
