Viewer Says Channel 13 Unlucky for Those Watching Marathon
I ran in the marathon, and I am amazed at the logistical work that must go into supporting such an event. Overall, I thought, a great job.
But not perfect. I had to drop out at the 20-mile mark, from fatigue, at about 12:15 p.m., and had more than a half-hour wait for the shuttle bus.
More important, waiting with me was Gidamis Shahanga, one of the favorites, who I understand had dropped out because of a cramp or strain in his thigh. I figure he must have been waiting there since about 10:50, an hour and a half before I got there, and two hours before the shuttle arrived.
An unfortunate slip-up in an otherwise wonderful event.
