Injury Sidelines CSUN’s Perry
Chris Perry of Cal State Northridge, the defending NCAA Division II champion in the men’s long jump, will miss three to four weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Friday.
The procedure, performed by CSUN team physician Les Cohen, was needed to repair cartilage in Perry’s knee, a school spokesman said, adding that no evidence of ligament damage was found.
Perry, who set a Northridge record of 25 feet 10 1/4 inches in the long jump as a freshman last season, injured his knee while competing in the Northern Arizona Invitational last Saturday.
