PREP BASKETBALL PLAYOFF ROUNDUP

In the Division V-AA playoffs:

Brethren Christian 50, Hesperia Christian 45--Brethren Christian ran off to a 20-9 lead on 52% shooting in the first quarter, then endured a 7 for 26 shooting drought through the second and third quarters before holding off host Hesperia Christian. Brandon Stott scored 15 points and Chris Fry had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Brethren Christian (23-5). Hesperia Christian (19-7) closed to within three points in the fourth quarter. Scott Dobyns had 20 points for Hesperia Christian.

In the Division V-A playoffs:

South Bay Lutheran 81, Liberty Christian 64--Liberty Christian fell behind, 18-9, in the first quarter, closed to within three in the third quarter, but couldn’t stay with speedy South Bay Lutheran. Toby Curto scored 14 points for Liberty Christian (15-9), and Dave Vaccaro had 13 points and 12 rebounds.
