Westchester and Crenshaw Battle at Loyola
Westchester High will face top-seeded Crenshaw in the semifinals of the L.A. City Section 4-A Divi sion basketball playoffs at 7:30 tonight at Loyola Marymount University.
The Comets (20-7) are coming off one of their best efforts of the season Wednesday night in a 78-64 victory over host Carson. Four Westchester players scored in double figures, led by 6-foot-8 center LeRoi O’Brien with 18.
Westchester’s height advantage and defense proved too much for Carson, as the Comets blew the game open with a 20-1 run to close the third quarter.
Crenshaw (21-4), gunning for its 12th City title, advanced with a 74-70 victory Wednesday over visiting Fairfax. Guard Kevin Ollie led the Cougars with 26 points, including 11 free throws in the fourth quarter.
