SANTA PAULA : $2 Million to Be Raised for Schools
- Share via
As much as $2 million was authorized by elementary school district trustees Thursday to be raised for reconstruction projects at two schools in Santa Paula.
Trustees of the Santa Paula Elementary School District unanimously approved the sale of up to $2 million in certificates of participation to investors, money that would help fund reconstruction projects at Isbell Middle School and Barbara Webster Elementary School.
Randall Chase, assistant superintendent of business services, said no taxes or developer fees would be raised to pay back the funds. The district would instead use money from the general fund and regular developer fees over the next 10 years.
The reconstruction project at the schools began last fall with $1.8 million from the state, Chase said.
