VENTURA : Testing of Sirens Scheduled Today
- Share via
The city of Ventura will be testing and performing maintenance this morning on the 10 emergency warning sirens scattered throughout the city.
The maintenance was scheduled after a malfunctioning air-raid siren near Ventura College sounded for about 30 seconds shortly after 6 a.m. Monday, prompting numerous residents to call the city’s 911 emergency line, Emergency Coordinator Barry Simmons said.
Also today, workers will make sure that the city’s newest siren, at Harbor Boulevard and Oyster Street near the Ventura Keys, is in working order, Simmons said.
The sirens will sound several times between 9 a.m. and noon.
