Iraqi crisis: The Times has received 9,263 letters on the Iraq- Kuwait crisis so far; 2,609letters supported the Bush Administration’s actions; 4,906 were critical of U.S. actions; 1,013 discussed oil and U.S. energy problems, and 735 related the events to other topics. Since the war began, 1,299 writers backed the allied war effort, while 1,687 opposed it.
