HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Alemany Girls Secure Mission Title

Tori McCormick scored 14 points and Sarah Guziel added 13 points and 10 rebounds as Alemany High clinched the inaugural Mission League championship with a 57-36 victory over Chaminade on Thursday at Alemany. The Indians (18-7, 9-1) won the Del Rey League title the past three seasons.
In other girls’ games:
Buena 92, Hueneme 53--Mia Palkie had 24 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for Buena (21-2, 13-1), which tied Ventura for the Channel League title. April Buck, Laura Dahl, and Alisa Ewin each scored 14 points for Buena.
Burroughs 44, Hart 39--Burroughs double-teamed standout guard Anjanette Dionne and shocked visiting Hart (21-5, 8-2) in the Foothill League game.
La Reina 43, Carpinteria 42--Valerie Serpico scored on a follow shot with five seconds left to give La Reina (9-1 in league play) the Tri-Valley League title.
Thousand Oaks 79, Simi Valley 51--Michelle Palmisano scored 27 points and Suzanne Nelinger and Samantha Clarke each added 10 for Thousand Oaks (23-3, 12-2) in a Marmonte League game.
The Lancers finished in a three-way tie for first place with Westlake and Channel Islands.
Westlake 70, Royal 54--Dani O’Byrne, Tracy Thorp and Lauren Goldstine each scored 17 points for Westlake (18-6, 12-2) in a Marmonte League game.
Rio Mesa 59, San Marcos 34--Marion Jones had 21 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals for host Rio Mesa (16-7, 10-4) in a Channel League game.
Montclair Prep 47, Marshall Fundamental 22--Patty Shaw scored 24 points to lead Montclair Prep to its first Alpha League victory.
St. Bonaventure 73, Bishop Diego 29--Joana Ziuraitis scored 31 points for St. Bonaventure (12-9, 7-3) in a Tri-Valley League game.
Oak Park 62, Moorpark 22--Chris Lobitz and Marcy Reed each scored 18 points for Oak Park.
Highland Hall 25, South Bay Lutheran 13--Highland Hall set a school record with its 14th win.
Campbell Hall 59, Buckley 30--Joanna Paul had 26 points and 17 rebounds for Campbell Hall (7-11, 2-6) in a Delphic League game.
Maranatha 42, L.A. Baptist 41--Maranatha made a three-point shot at the buzzer to thwart visiting L.A. Baptist’s comeback.
BOYS
Montclair Prep 95, Marshall Fundamental 74--Chris Sanger and J.T. Billingslea each scored 24 points for Montclair Prep (18-4, 8-2), which won its fourth consecutive Alpha League title.
L.A. Baptist 71, Maranatha 56--Glen Dodson had 13 points and 14 assists for L.A. Baptist.
South Bay Lutheran 81, Highland Hall 63--Despite 29 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocked shots from John Klejnot, Highland Hall fell in a Westside League game.
