Money Mutuals Set Another Record: Assets of the nation’s 531 money market mutual funds climbed $7.63 billion to a record $446.3 billion, the Investment Company Institute said. The latest increase for the seven-day period ended Jan. 16 followed a revised record $16.8-billion increase in the funds’ assets the previous week. War concerns were cited for flow of funds into money market funds, which are considered fairly safe and liquid investments.
