Because of “scheduling conflicts,” tenor Jonathan Welch will replace Hans Ashbaker as Lt. Pinkerton in Opera Pacific’s added matinee performance of “Madama Butterfly” Sunday at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, a company spokeswoman said Thursday.
