Transient Stabbed in Attack on Street

A transient was seriously wounded in an attack on a Hollywood street early Monday, authorities said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was stabbed in the stomach by another man in an apparently unprovoked attack in the 1800 block of Cherokee Avenue about 1 a.m., Sgt. Art Miller said.
The transient was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was in guarded condition, Miller said. The assailant fled. Police had no motive for the attack, Miller said.
