BANGKOK, Thailand — A worshiper hoping to please the spirit at one of Bangkok’s best-known Hindu shrines added an unorthodox gift to the usual offerings of wooden elephants and garlands: a pornographic videotape. An attendant at the Erawan shrine said today that someone recently left the video.
Hundreds of people, including many visitors from Hong Kong and Taiwan, flock to the shrine each day to ask the Hindu god Thao Maha for help in fulfilling their wishes.
