Norwalk : New Ordinance Takes Effect Banning Pushcart Vendors
The sale of ice cream, candy and other goods from pushcarts is now illegal in Norwalk under a new city ordinance that took effect this week.
The City Council passed the ordinance last month after residents and business owners complained that the pushcart vendors were causing traffic problems and creating a potential health risk by selling food that was not being inspected by health officials, a city spokesman said.
