Authorities are investigating the complaint of a 27-year-old Whittier woman who told deputies that she was sexually assaulted by a man dressed like a police officer and driving a four-door sedan painted black and white like a patrol car.
However, no suspects have been arrested and a detective said authorities have been unable to contact the victim since the attack was reported.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, said she was stopped about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Dicky Street in the Whittier area by a man wearing a badge. The man handcuffed her and attacked her in the back seat of his car as she screamed for help, she said.
Norwalk substation Sheriff’s Detective Barbara Henderson said Thursday that she has “no idea” whether the man may have been impersonating a police officer or may have been, in fact, a security guard or a policeman.
