THE KEATING FIVE: The ethics hearings for the five senators connected with Charles H. Keating Jr.that start today in Washington (A1) will be televised live, but don’t expect any locals to star. . . . Keating, charged with securities fraud stemming from failure of Lincoln Savings & Loan of Irvine, probably won’t be called, and California Sen. Alan Cranston says he’ll make an opening statement but won’t testify. . . . Gavel-to-gavel coverage on cable’s C-SPAN will be live at 6:30 a.m. and rebroadcast at 5 p.m. CNN will broadcast most of the hearings live.
