COSTA MESA : Lectures to Focus on Domestic Violence
Orange Coast College will offer a series of free lectures on domestic violence Tuesday through Thursday.
Best-selling author Paxton Quigley highlights the series with a presentation Wednesday at 11 a.m. Quigley, author of “Armed and Female,” will discuss personal protection strategies for women, including firearms for self-defense. She is a certified instructor with the National Rifle Assn. and teaches gun-defense classes for women.
Other lectures will focus on the court system, alcohol and drug abuse, the effects of domestic violence on children and the need for shelters.
All sessions will be held in the Student Center Lounge.
