Suspect Slain, Officer Saved by Protective Vest
A suspect was slain and a San Diego woman police officer’s life saved by a bullet-proof vest in a shooting incident in the 3000 block of Central Avenue in the City Heights area of San Diego Sunday night, according to late reports.
The officer was reportedly shot at point-blank range but saved by the protective vest. She was taken to Mercy Hospital. The officer reportedly will survive the shooting.
No details were available late Sunday night as to the identity of the officer or the slain suspect or what lead up to the shootings.
