Michael Davis Becomes Burbank’s Fire Chief

Michael W. Davis took over Monday as chief of the Burbank Fire Department, replacing 32-year veteran Curt Reynolds.

Davis, who joined the department as a firefighter in 1969 after a stint as a professional football player, was chosen by the City Council last month to replace Reynolds, who will retire Dec. 31.

Davis, 50, of North Hollywood, has served as a battalion chief since 1980. Before that, he was an engineer and a captain. He played defensive safety in 1967 for a New York Jets farm team in Waterbury, Conn.
