FileNet Lays Off 30 at Headquarters
FileNet Corp., a maker of computerized document processing systems, has laid off 30 employees at its headquarters, a company official said Wednesday.
Mark St. Clare said the company laid off 4% of its 750 employees to reduce its costs in light of slowing sales and an expected loss of $550,000 for the third quarter ended Sept. 30.
Earlier this year, Costa Mesa-based FileNet said it had expected to hire 300 people, but the company said its plans changed as a result of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and the softening U.S. economy.
