Eulalia Costa Rica Saturday at 6 p.m. at AFI, Mark Goodson screening room, 2021 N. Western Ave. In this sarcastically tongue-in-cheek version of a typical Costa Rican soap opera--all about a poor girl from the provinces who finds a profusion of hard knocks, rotten lovers and glorious triumph in the city--reality keeps rubbing against the cliches, making them both more plausible and more humorous. Director Oscar Castillo, unfortunately, sometimes has a heavy hand with the actors; he may be skewering the heart of soap opera, but it fights back.
