Dale Jarrett worked his way up from the 28th starting spot to win the Gatorade 200 Busch Grand National stock car race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.
Jarrett inherited the lead on Lap 129 of the 147-lap event and held off the Buick of Harry Gant.
Jarrett took the checkered flag under caution in the mostly trouble-free race. He was leading when Jack Sprague’s Buick blew an engine and spun out in the first turn with two laps to go.
