Thinking Small
The Times carried a story (Part A, July 2) that should be front-page news. It reveals a successful experiment in creating a hormone that impairs growth in mammals.
This phenomenal achievement can solve the world’s problems. Just think of the possibilities: Smaller people would use mini cars; our present freeways could have double the number of lanes. Houses and lots could be tiny, permitting even more building in our state. The population could grow, and yet be smaller!
