San Ysidro
Two security guards at a San Ysidro trailer park were arrested after they posed as immigration officers and robbed three illegal immigrants, San Diego police said.
The three immigrants were taken to the security office of the Border Village Trailer Park in the 1100 block of San Ysidro Boulevard shortly after midnight Thursday and robbed of $115, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
Gary Carter, 23, of National City and Tommy Corley, 20, of San Diego were arrested by police on suspicion of kidnaping, robbery and unlawful arrest and were held at County Jail after being identified by the three men, Robinson said.
The undocumented migrants, all from Colima, Mexico, had crossed the border on foot and were stopped by the security guards as they were walking through the trailer park, Robinson said.
Robinson said that, once the men were released, they called police who made the arrests about 1 a.m. Thursday.
