El Monte : Request for Enforcement

San Pierre Drive resident Richard Guerra asked the City Council on Tuesday for better code enforcement and police coverage of the Lion’s Manor housing complex on Asher Street.
Problems include drive-by shootings, beatings, parking problems, and residents dismantling cars in the street and hanging laundry on bushes, Guerra said.
Planning Director Harold Johanson said Lion’s Manor “has been a consistent problem for the city,” adding that “part of the problem is overall deterioration, building code, electric code violations.”
