El Monte : Daytime Sweeping Studied
Complaints about inadequate street sweeping have led the City Council to consider changing the nighttime sweeping system to a day system.
The new system would include the posting of “No Parking” signs specifying sweeping days and times and strict enforcement of those restrictions. Start-up costs are estimated to be more than $600,000, including additional personnel and equipment.
Public Works Director Bob Pinniger recommended contracting out enforcement services and phasing in the plan over three to five years.
