FILLMORE : Youth Stabbed During Street Fight
An 18-year-old Fillmore youth was stabbed in the back after trying to help a friend in a fight, authorities said.
Mitchell Medina was treated and released from Santa Paula Memorial Hospital for a stab wound to the back of his right shoulder Sunday night, Lt. Gary Backman said.
Medina and a friend were walking toward the corner of First and C streets in Fillmore about 11:15 p.m. Sunday. One of four other men fighting in the street stabbed Medina when he tried to help his friend get up from the sidewalk after being knocked down, Sgt. Kelly Fadler said.
