Ted Schmitt Award: The Los Angeles’ Theatre League Alliance has created the Ted Schmitt Memorial Award in honor of the late artistic director of the CAST Theatre. The $5,000 cash award will be given to an individual “whose accomplishments embody Ted Schmitt’s innovative work, and demonstrate a commitment to small theater in Los Angeles,” officials said. The award will be given during the alliance’s Ovation Awards on March 4, 1991, at the Pasadena Playhouse.
