A small brush fire near Ramona on Wednesday afternoon forced officials to close sections of California 78 and Weekend Villa Road for about an hour.
The 1-acre fire was discovered about 3 p.m. and was under control by 4:15 p.m., said Roxanne Stager, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
The road closings had only a slight effect on the area’s traffic flow, said California Highway Patrol Officer Joe Wolf.
No injuries or property damage were reported because of the fire, Stager said.
