Rockwell International Corp.: The El Segundo-based firm said third-quarter profit totaled $171.2 million, down 4%. Sales were down 3% to $3.1 billion. The advanced technology company, which has aerospace, electronics and automotive segments, said net income was affected by lower foreign currency translation gains and a higher effective income tax rate.
