SANTA PAULA : Police Searching for Suspect in Slaying

Police were continuing to search Wednesday for a man suspected of killing one man and wounding another in an argument in Santa Paula on Saturday.
Detectives identified Enrique Aceves, 25, as the man they were seeking in the shooting death of Gary Ramirez, 25, of Ventura, and the wounding of Robert Ortiz, 23, of Santa Paula. They later learned that Aceves was the suspect’s alias, Santa Paula Police Cmdr. Bob Gonzalez said.
“We know who the suspect is on sight; however, we do not know his real identity,” Gonzalez said. “We’re having difficulty actually identifying him by name.”
Police believe that the suspect may have fled to Mexico.
“He’s from Mexico and there was some discussion about him going back there,” he said.
