Reader’s Digest Association Inc. has named John J. Donoghue publisher of the U.S. edition of Reader’s Digest, the nation’s largest paid-circulation magazine. Donoghue, 48, will succeed Ronald L. Cole, who has been appointed to the new position of vice president of the magazine publishing group, which oversees Reader’s Digest and four special interest magazines. Donoghue has been director of U.S. advertising sales for the magazine since January 1986.
