COUNTYWIDE : Higher Fees Likely for County Services
Orange County residents could soon face a slew of higher fees for services they get from county government, the result of agencies discovering that they are not breaking even on some of their services.
“This is the result of the departments being proactive in reviewing their costs,” said Karen Davis, a county budget analyst.
Fees in a number of different areas could be affected. In health care, for instance, the cost of a crisis-intervention session would go from $210 to $260, while group mental-health outpatient services would increase $10 per session to $70. The recommendations, covering seven types of services, will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors next week. Public hearings are scheduled.
