Julie Krone Heading Back to the Saddle

NEW YORK — The nation’s leading female jockey, Julie Krone, returns to the saddle Saturday at Monmouth Park, Oceanport, N.J. Krone will simply exercise a few horses for trainer John Forbes, but has indicated she plans to return to race riding by the end of the month. Krone underwent bone grafts and prolonged rehabilitation therapy after a Nov. 24 spill at the Meadowlands in New Jersey, where she sustained severe arm injuries.
