SHORT TAKES : You Can Call Him Officer Arnold

ASTORIA, Ore. — Arnold Schwarzenegger became Officer Schwarzenegger, honorary member of the Astoria Police Department, in a ceremony during filming in this coastal Oregon town.
“Some of you know my father was a police officer,” the Austrian-born film star said Thursday. “His biggest dream and wish was that I become a police officer.”
But Schwarzenegger has confined his law enforcement roles to the screen.
In his latest movie, “Kindergarten Cop,” Schwarzenegger plays a Los Angeles detective who poses undercover as a kindergarten teacher at an Astoria elementary school while chasing down a murderous drug kingpin.
