Fairfax to Resume Quest for Crown
After a five-day layoff, Fairfax will resume its drive to repeat as L.A. Games boys’ basketball champion this weekend.
The Lions advanced to the Sweet 16 by dumping Chatsworth, 48-28, in the first round, then defeating Ganesha, 54-40, and South Torrance, 66-39, last weekend. Fairfax will face Verbum Dei, which has defeated South Pasadena, St. Anthony and Westminster in the first three rounds. Tip-off is at 9 a.m. Saturday at Los Angeles Jordan High.
If Fairfax wins, it will face the winner of the Long Beach Jordan-Dominguez game Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The semifinals are Sunday at noon, with the championship to be played at 3 p.m.
