Santa Monica : 5 Professors Honored
Five Santa Monica College faculty members have named the college’s outstanding educators for 1989-90.
Chosen by students and faculty, the winners are: French and Spanish professor Miguel Aparicio of Venice; business professor Dick Barkley of Westchester; mathematics professor Terry Green of Santa Monica; art professor Jim Urmston of Santa Monica, and counselor Linda Webster of Los Angeles.
Nominations are submitted by students and faculty members, and selections are made by a committee of students and professors in each of the college’s divisions. Criteria for selection include commitment to teaching, ability to inspire students and ability to communicate, a college official said.
Each winner receives $250, plus money for instructional equipment.
