NAMES IN THE NEWS : Festival to Honor Ex-Hostage

DECATUR, Ala. — Frank H. Reed, who was freed in April after being held captive in Lebanon for 3 1/2 years, will receive the Audie Murphy Patriotism Award at the Spirit of America Festival on July 4.
Reed, a 57-year-old educator who founded a private school in Beirut, was released April 30 by his pro-Iranian, Shiite Muslim captors.
The Spirit of America Festival began in 1967 in reaction to protests against the Vietnam War.
