Stricken Oil Barge Emptied

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. — Oil was removed Tuesday from the damaged tanks of a barge that ran aground in Buzzards Bay, authorities said. The transfer of about 1.2 million gallons of oil, at a rate of 50,000 gallons an hour, was begun late Monday night, U.S. Coast Guard Lt. James Donovan said.
