Goodman on the Semantics of the Abortion Controversy
- Share via
Regarding Goodman’s column, abortion is birth control, whether it is a primary or secondary means. All this bickering over “good” vs. “bad” abortions is silly. Whatever the reason for the abortion, the result is always the same: the unborn child dies.
The practice is either morally acceptable or it isn’t. If it is not morally acceptable for, say, gender selection, then it is not morally acceptable for reasons of finance, social status, convenience or anything else. And if it is OK to abort because the child is not wanted, then why isn’t it OK to abort because a female (or male) child is not wanted?
