HOW SAFE IS LAX?
Burton questions whether the FAA is going far enough and fast enough in pursuit of air safety. The answer clearly is no. It will most likely take a mid-air collision involving the death of a senator or congressman before anyone in Washington gets concerned enough to understand what a zero margin of error really means. Meanwhile, the flying public must take its chances until things improve radically.
